Sony is relaunching their BRAVIA brand, aiming to transform home cinema. They’re expanding into home audio too, with the goal of recreating the movie theatre experience at home.
Leveraging Expertise in Film Production for an Authentic Viewing Experience
Sony has a unique advantage in this endeavour. They have a long and storied history in professional film production equipment. This expertise gives them an insider’s understanding of what filmmakers are trying to achieve, and they’ve leveraged that knowledge to ensure BRAVIA TVs accurately represent the creator’s vision.
Unveiling the BRAVIA TV Lineup: A Visual Powerhouse
The BRAVIA TV lineup includes multiple models spread across four series. At the top of the hierarchy is the BRAVIA 9. Sony meticulously designs these TVs to offer outstanding picture quality. They feature high peak luminance to illuminate bright highlights. Additionally, they boast deep blacks, enriching shadows for vivid imagery. Moreover, they provide exceptional contrast, ensuring a truly immersive viewing experience. Additionally, Sony’s Studio Calibrated modes ensure colours are reproduced faithfully, exactly as the content creator intended them to be seen.
Powering Exceptional Picture Quality: XR Processor 1 and XR Backlight Master Drive
The XR Processor 1 equips BRAVIA TVs with scene recognition to optimize the picture for ultimate realism, achieving this level of accuracy. Working in tandem with the processor is the XR Backlight Master Drive technology. This innovative backlight control system precisely manages thousands of LEDs, delivering authentic contrast and preserving even the subtlest details in the most demanding scenes.
Introducing BRAVIA Theatre: A Symphony of Sound for Your Home Cinema
But a great picture is only half the story. To complete the cinematic experience, Sony is introducing the BRAVIA Theatre line of home audio products. This range includes soundbars, a surround sound system, and even a unique neckband speaker. These audio solutions seamlessly integrate with BRAVIA TVs, creating a unified system for an immersive audio experience.
Optimising Sound for the Perfect Cinematic Experience: Acoustic Multi-Audio+, Voice Zoom 3, and Acoustic Center Sync
BRAVIA Theatre boasts several innovative features to deliver optimal sound quality. Acoustic Multi-Audio+ utilises a combination of Beam Tweeters and Frame Tweeters to precisely place sound around the room, ensuring every sound comes from exactly the right direction. For those who struggle to hear dialogue, Voice Zoom 3 comes to the rescue. This clever technology uses AI algorithms to identify human speech and selectively boost its volume, making even the quietest whispers crystal clear. Finally, Acoustic Center Sync syncs your soundbar or other audio system with the TV, ensuring sound appears to be coming directly from the screen, just like in a movie theatre.
Commitment to Quality, Sustainability, and Accessibility
The new BRAVIA line embodies Sony’s commitment to quality and sustainability. These TVs support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, delivering top-tier picture and sound quality. Moreover, they hold IMAX Enhanced certification, enhancing select content for a more immersive viewing experience. Alongside performance, Sony focuses on environmental responsibility by designing BRAVIA TVs for reduced power consumption and integrating a substantial amount of recycled materials.
Accessibility is another key focus for Sony. BRAVIA TVs come equipped with features like a Talkback screen reader, text enlargement, and tactile dots to make setup and navigation easier for users with visual impairments. Color inversion and voice commands offer additional options for a user-friendly experience.
BRAVIA: The Centerpiece of Your Home Entertainment System
The new BRAVIA 7 and 3 will be available in Malaysia starting from June 2024, with the higher-end BRAVIA 9 and 8 models following suit later that same month. Pricing information will be revealed closer to launch.
