Spotify Wrapped 2025: “Listening Ages,” Artist Sprints, and New Ways to Connect
The wait is finally over for music lovers worldwide as Spotify officially launched its highly anticipated Spotify Wrapped 2025 campaign. Marking a decade since the concept began, this year’s iteration promises to be the most layered and interactive experience yet, moving beyond simple statistics to offer users a narrative-driven look at their year in audio.

The launch comes amidst a busy week for streaming fans, following closely on the heels of Apple Music Replay and YouTube Music Recap, which began its rollout in late November. This synchronised “recap season” has intensified the annual battle for social media dominance among streaming giants, though Spotify aims to stand out with its deeper focus on storytelling.

Theme-focused on “layers, stories, and connection,” the 2025 experience introduces several new features designed to contextualise listening habits. A standout addition is “Listening Age,” which compares a user’s musical taste to others in their demographic based on the release years of their most-streamed tracks. Additionally, the new “Top Artist Sprint” visualises the month-by-month race between a user’s top five artists, adding a competitive thrill to the standard rankings.
Spotify has also deepened the connection between fans and creators. For the first time, the “Fan Leaderboard” tells users exactly where they rank globally among their favourite artists’ listeners. The platform has also expanded its “Clips” feature, previously limited to musicians, to include messages from top podcasters and audiobook authors like Dan Brown and Abby Jimenez.
Social interaction remains a core pillar with the debut of “Wrapped Party,” a live feature that lets friends experience their year in music together. Users are also sorted into one of six “Clubs” based on their streaming style, fostering a sense of community among listeners with similar habits.
Eligible users, those who have streamed at least 30 songs and five different artists, can access their personalised report exclusively via the Spotify mobile app on iOS and Android. Beyond the digital experience, Spotify is celebrating with real-world activations in cities like Manchester, Seoul, and Mexico City, featuring artists from Oasis to Bad Bunny.
