Use your Android Phone to sign-in to Google on iOS

Continuing the theme surrounding personal data security this week, Google has announced that you can now log into your Google account from your iPhone or iPad by using an Android phone as a hardware authentication key.

Given how common security breaches have been happening these days, this passwordless authentication method is definitely a good thing to have for the security conscious among us.

This move to enable passwordless authentication is timely as Apple also announced its own single sign-on feature called “Sign in with Apple” for Apple ID users to sign into third party websites without sharing their personal information (like signing in with your Facebook account).

If this trend is set to continue, this should hopefully alleviate the problem of having to remember many passwords for different accounts.
