Xiaomi Unveils the 15 Series: A Powerhouse Trio
Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro have been officially launched just now as the first devices equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and Leica camera system. Like last year’s model, the Xiaomi 15 series puts emphasis on flagship-level photography capabilities.

Xiaomi 15 Pro comes with a 6.73″ LTPO AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is further combined with several other additional features such as 2K resolution support, peak brightness of up to 3200nits, and even Dolby Vision.
The device features the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options go up to 1TB using UFS 4.0. It includes a 6100 mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The three cameras consist of a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with an IMX 858 sensor. While in front, a 32MP camera is used for selfies. All three camera lenses use Leica lenses paired with the Xiaomi AISP system to take photos at the most optimal settings.
The device comes packed with impressive features. It supports Wi-Fi 7, offering faster and more reliable connectivity. Audio is enhanced with stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos for immersive sound. It’s also rated IP68 for waterproofing, providing durability in wet conditions. An infrared transmitter is included for remote control functionality, and security is bolstered by an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint scanner. The device runs on the latest HyperOS 2.0, built on Android 15, ensuring a smooth and updated user experience.

Next, the Xiaomi 15 is equipped with a 6.36″ LTPO AMOLED 120Hz screen. The screen also supports 1.5K resolution, 3200 nits peak brightness, and Dolby Vision support. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, memory of up to 16GB RAM, storage of up to 1TB and a battery of 5400 mAh. The battery supports 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
The main camera also consists of a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50M telephoto lens. Video capability also reaches 8K which is also included with a 32MP front camera. Photography capabilities are also enhanced with the Xiaomi AISP 2.0 system.
In addition, the device also passes the IP68 waterproof rating and supports the latest HyperOS 2.0 operating system based on Android 15. In addition, there are also stereo speakers, an infrared emitter and an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint scanner.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi 15 series is now available for pre-order in China, with sales officially commencing on the 31st of October. Prices start at CNY4,500 (~RM2,767) for the base model; meanwhile, they go up to CNY6,000 (~RM3,689) for the Diamond Edition. Additionally, the Custom Edition is priced at CNY5,000 (~RM3,074).
