The OnePlus 12R has just been made official along with its bigger brother, the OnePlus 12. The 12R is the more affordable model in the new line. Despite that, it is still no slouch in the specifications department.
OnePlus 12R
The OnePlus 12R packs last gen’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC together with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 internal storage. The device also comes with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and and 4,500 nits peak brightness. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 similar to the main 12 model.
Similar to its bigger brother, the 12R features a triple camera setup. There’s a 50MP main camera with Sony’s IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. However, unlike its bigger brother, the 12R’s camera does not feature the Hasselblad branding. There is also a 16MP selfie camera at the front located within the punch-hole notch at the top of the display.
As with the OnePlus 12, the now iconic slider is present on this device. There’s also a hefty 5,500mAh battery powering the device. It supports 100W SUPERVOOC wired charging but it lacks the AIRVOOC wireless charging functionality that its big brother has. Other features include Bluetooth 5.3, dual nano-SIM function and Wi-Fi 7, among others.
Price and availability
The OnePlus 12R is set to retail for RM3,199 and is available in Cool Blue and Iron Gray colour options. The actual release date has yet to be revealed by OnePlus Malaysia and that the device is Coming Soon.
