But I found many AI that are available right now that we consumers can actually use and some amazing ones that are coming in the future during this year’s MWC Shanghai 2024 event. So, let’s check it out.
HUAWEI’s 5G Advanced Speeds
First, let’s talk about internet speeds. With the introduction of Huawei’s 5G Advanced Speeds. As mentioned, without the 10 Gbps connection speeds, AI in general can be almost deemed unusable. It’s amazing to know that all of this amazing data speed supports all of the AI features mentioned in this article.
So, what are the cool features that we consumers can use? Well, let’s start with Smart Home.
Smart Home
When I say Smart Home, I’m not talking about the usual smart bulbs or smart switches. This time around, it’s all about not only watching TV at home but interacting with your TV.
In addition to the new capabilities of family video calls and video call viewing, I managed to test out some somatic gaming. Yes, that means using your whole body for gaming.
This is all thanks to the AI recognition hardware setup box which senses every move and translates it to the TV with no latency at all. I even tried somatic gaming in the exhibition area!
Then there’s even the Cloud AIGC conversion to the Ultra Fast NAS, which is an exciting conversion that allows you to convert your face locally on your phone’s app.
This is also thanks to the new FTTR storage option, which is expandable from 256GB to up to 2TB, which is a massive amount of storage.

The latest iFTTR F50 also comes with a screen for network status or any errors that exist.
Experience Improvement
Next, it’s all about improving what’s already available. Cloud gaming‘s latency is being reduced from 100ms to only 30ms, with high stable image quality that improves your experience on a 4K screen.
If you want to take your live streaming to the next level, forget 2D because 3D live streaming is the way to go. This is all possible since it has a bandwidth up to 300Mbps, giving you an amazing smooth and consistent experience without latency, lag, or jittering, thanks to the network stability mentioned earlier.
Currently, in China, there are different packages available which include the live stream and family packages as well. This gives a nice flexibility depending on what you think is your main priority. I hope that these kinds of packages will be coming soon here in Malaysia too.
All of this will work hand in hand with all the 3D immersive hardware products that are already available right now in the market today, which was really great to know.
AI Reshapes Business
The next available AI is to help your kids grow and be smarter. There’s the AI Study Buddy that provides educational support for children, integrating AI models and educational resources with real-time questions and answers from the devices as well. This is so much better than traditional video courses which are just one-way communication.
My favorite is the new Homecare Services for the Elderly, which is done either with the LiDAR sensors, which is placed all around the home of your elderly family member, especially in areas like the bathroom or bedroom where it is not very appropriate to have cameras.
Some elderly folks can be a little uncomfortable having cameras all around the house, so these LiDAR sensors have sensing capabilities for situations when your elderly family member has a fall. There’ll be a notification for that besides seeing a red dot shown on the screen monitoring system.
If you want to take that to another level of help, there’s the Elder Robot that can be used in conjunction with the sensors to check on the elderly people in the exact area and facilitate video calls with family members too.
This, my friends, is indeed super useful for all of us, especially if your parents or your grandparents are in their older age.
These are all readily available services right now, which not only benefit us as users but also for operators to expand and reshape their businesses as well.
1ms OTN to Cloud
Then there’s the 1ms speed Optical Transmission Network to the Cloud. This helps to eliminate the need for expensive equipment at home or in the office since everything is achieved in cloud-based systems.
Imagine changing the components of huge physical items that you have instead of having the whole entire thing at home or in your office. Everything you can do online, since this kind of task usually needs high bandwidth and low latency to achieve this.
Currently, there are already existing use cases in China and some countries in Southeast Asia, particularly in the advanced companies to achieve cloud-based rendering.
Future Advancements
Alright, next, let’s talk about what the future holds in the world of AI that we can actually use.

The first super cool thing is the AI fitting mirror. Imagine when you shop online for clothes, instead of only waiting for the clothes to arrive to see how you look in them, this AI fitting mirror will let you see on the spot how you look wearing them.
It’s like having your own fashion consultant at home. This is looking to be developed, including recommending makeups and other beauty-related products too.
Imagine if you want to know how a particular makeup matches your face or if you want to see how good you look in a particular outfit. You will get all of those visual answers before making a purchase decision.
AI Smart Housekeepers
The other two cool things that are being worked on and coming in the future are the AI Smart Housekeepers and Health Assistance. Imagine a full-size helping robot to keep your house clean, which is in development as we speak.
Health Assistance
Then there’s also the robotic development for health assistance. Imagine having a robot at home to monitor health issues and risks that could benefit parents who are busy either working from home or even in the office, keeping them well informed on the health status of their kids. That was really cool, right?
