Samsung Galaxy S Series Could Get a Name Change in the Future

Goodbye Galaxy S Ultra, Hello Galaxy S Note?

For years, Samsung has been sticking to a familiar formula for its flagship Galaxy S series: a base model, a Plus variant, and an Ultra powerhouse. However, recent rumours suggest this might be changing.

Samsung Galaxy S Series Note

According to industry insider Yogesh Brar, the upcoming Galaxy S25 lineup could see a significant overhaul in naming. The Ultra model is beloved for its high-end specs and S-Pen integration. It might be rebranded as the Note. The Note name is synonymous with Samsung’s productivity-focused devices. Meanwhile, the Plus model could be upgraded to the Pro moniker, better reflecting its premium positioning.

While this shift aligns with the S22 Ultra’s adoption of the S-Pen, many argue that the Note name change should have happened sooner. The question remains: does a Pro variant truly differentiate itself enough from the base model to warrant the name change?

It’s important to note that Brar’s track record with leaks isn’t spotless, so take this information with a grain of salt. Until Samsung officially confirms these changes, we can only speculate about the future of its flagship lineup.
