Google’s highly anticipated Pixel 9a has been fully unveiled in a comprehensive leak, providing the most detailed look yet at its design, specifications, and pricing. Pixel 9a Leaked
Design and Display
The Pixel 9a sees a noticeable size increase compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 8a. Measuring 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9 mm, the device is larger than the 8a’s 152.1 x 72.7 x 8.9 mm dimensions, accommodating a larger 6.3-inch display (up from 6.1 inches) with a 2424 x 1080 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This aligns the 9a’s screen size more closely with the standard Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.
One of the most revealing aspects of the leak is the clear view of the display bezels. While previously obscured in earlier glimpses, the new images showcase significantly larger bezels compared to the rest of the Pixel 9 series. Despite the size increase, the Pixel 9a surprisingly weighs less at 185.9g, a slight decrease from the Pixel 8a’s 188g.
Hardware and Performance
The Pixel 9a brings a significant upgrade with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, an improvement over the previous model’s IP67 rating. It is powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset and comes with 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB or 256GB. The device will launch with Android 15 out of the box, making it the first Pixel to do so. Google also promises seven years of OS updates, ensuring long-term support.
Camera and Features
The camera setup features a dual-camera system, a departure from the traditional Pixel camera bar design. It includes a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view. A 13MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
Additional features include wireless charging, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6, satellite support, a fingerprint sensor, and face recognition. The device also boasts a larger 5,100 mAh battery, confirming previous reports.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing details have also surfaced, with the 128GB variant expected to retail for €499 and the 256GB model for €599. While a specific release date has not been confirmed, reports suggest a late March launch.
Colour Options
Finally, the leak showcases the Pixel 9a in all four available colours, providing a complete picture of Google’s upcoming mid-range offering. With its enhanced specifications, improved durability, and detailed design reveal, the Pixel 9a is poised to be a strong contender in the smartphone market.
