Samsung Hints at One UI 7 Beta for Foldable Lineup, Easing User Frustration
Samsung seems to be responding to growing user frustration over the delayed rollout of its latest One UI update. Signs now suggest that a beta programme may soon launch for its newest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. While the company has been actively developing the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series, users of other Samsung devices—especially older models—have voiced increasing dissatisfaction over the lack of progress.
However, reliable tipster Tarun Vats recently spotted new developments on X. These signs indicate that the wait for foldable users may finally be coming to an end.

Beta Builds and Forum Pages Spotted
Vats initially reported discovering beta builds for the Fold and Flip models on Samsung’s test servers in Europe and India. This was followed by the discovery of official One UI 7 beta forum pages for the 2024 foldables on Samsung’s community website.
Notably, Vats says that the One UI 7 beta programme page was created for multiple Samsung phones, including the Galaxy S23, ‘long ago,’ indicating that Samsung has been preparing for a wider beta rollout. However, the appearance of dedicated pages for the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, coupled with the beta build sightings, strongly suggests an imminent beta programme launch.
This potential beta programme for the foldables comes as a welcome sign, particularly for users who have invested heavily in Samsung’s premium devices. Many have voiced their concerns on Samsung’s community forums, highlighting the prolonged wait for the latest software.
However, it’s important to note that the initiation of a beta programme doesn’t guarantee a swift public release. Samsung has already released five beta versions of the Galaxy S24. This extensive testing process suggests that its foldable devices will go through a similarly rigorous phase.
A Step in the Right Direction
A beta programme is a positive step. However, a stable One UI 7 release for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 may still be several months away. Despite this, users can find some hope in the beta programme. It gives them a chance to experience the latest features of One UI 7 early.
