Following its recent launch in Thailand, ASUS Malaysia has officially announced the launch date for the new ROG Phone 9 FE: 19th March. The announcement, made via a Facebook post, confirms the arrival of the gaming smartphone in the Malaysian market.
Key Specifications of the ROG Phone 9 FE
The ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor which is still a beefy SoC despite its age. It also comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The display is a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 185Hz refresh rate for an immersive visual experience.
In terms of photography, the rear camera system is the same as the base model, a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro lens. For selfies and video calls, the device sports a 32MP front-facing camera. Powering the FE is a 5,500 mAh battery, which supports 65W fast charging, allowing for quick and convenient recharging.
Moreover, the FE maintains the signature gaming aesthetic and powerful internals that the ROG Phone series is known for.
The battery capacity is slightly reduced to 5,500 mAh compared to other devices in the same series. However, it supports 65W fast charging, ensuring quick top-ups. This helps minimise downtime and keeps you powered up when you need it.
Expected Pricing
In Thailand, the device debuted at THB29,990 (approximately RM3,918). Seeing that the baseline ROG Phone 9 launched at RM3,999, we’re very curious to see where ASUS will price the device when it launches here.
