One UI 7: AI Takes Centre Stage in 2025 Malaysian Rollout
Samsung has officially unveiled its next major user interface update, One UI 7. This update promises a significant leap forward in AI-driven smartphone experiences. For Malaysians, the official rollout will begin on 14th April. It will first arrive on the flagship Galaxy S24 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. After that, it will gradually expand to a wider range of Galaxy devices.
One UI 7 is poised to redefine user interaction, focusing on intuitive AI features and a redesigned personalised interface. Samsung is betting big on artificial intelligence, integrating Galaxy AI to streamline everyday tasks and minimise app switching.
AI-Powered Productivity and Creativity
A key highlight is “AI Select,” a context-aware feature that anticipates user needs, such as quickly converting video clips into GIFs directly from the Edge Panel. “Writing Assist” will simplify content creation with features like text summarisation and automatic formatting.
For creative users, “Drawing Assist” brings powerful image generation capabilities, allowing users to combine text prompts with images or sketches. “Audio Eraser” will offer advanced audio editing, enabling users to isolate and remove unwanted sounds from videos.
Samsung is also deepening its collaboration with Google, integrating Gemini for seamless voice control. Users will be able to perform complex tasks simply by speaking, such as finding specific restaurants with detailed criteria. Furthermore, natural language search will extend to the Settings menu, making it easier to adjust device preferences.
A Refined User Experience
Beyond AI, One UI 7 introduces a “bold new design” that emphasises personalisation and control. A simplified home screen, redesigned widgets, and a customisable lock screen aim to provide a more intuitive and seamless user experience. The “Now Bar” on the lock screen will deliver real-time updates, allowing users to quickly access essential information without unlocking their devices.
Availability and Device Compatibility
The One UI 7 update will become available in Malaysia starting 14th April, gradually rolling out to a wider range of Galaxy devices in the following weeks.
