OpenAI, the artificial intelligence research and deployment company, has just announced a groundbreaking new way for users to access its AI image generation capabilities: a dedicated phone number. Specifically, as of Monday, anyone with a WhatsApp account can now text 1-800-CHATGPT to request an AI-generated image using a plain-language prompt.

The innovative feature, revealed via a post on X (formerly Twitter), significantly broadens access to OpenAI’s DALL-E-powered image generation tool, removing the need for direct access to the ChatGPT platform or a dedicated app. This move is expected to democratize AI image creation, making it available to a vast new user base.
