Google Teases Pixel 10 Ahead of August Reveal, Design Echoes Pixel 9
Google has offered the first official glimpse of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Pixel 10, through a brief teaser video posted on the Google Store homepage on Monday. The new device appears to maintain a design strikingly similar to its predecessor, the Pixel 9, with a prominent oval-shaped camera bar on the rear.

The teaser suggests a full unveiling is imminent, with a “Made by Google” event anticipated in New York on the 20th of August, where the Pixel 10 is expected to be fully revealed.
Design Continuity and Teaser Details
The short clip showcases the back of the Pixel 10, highlighting its distinct camera bar, flash, and an unspecified sensor. This design choice marks a continuation of the “island” style camera bar introduced with the Pixel 9, diverging from the edge-to-edge bars seen on the Pixel 6, 7, and 8. In contrast, the more budget-friendly Pixel 9A, released earlier this year, features a flush camera design without any bump.
This official teaser follows several months of leaks and rumours surrounding the device, including a sighting of the phone during a commercial shoot in Vancouver back in May.
Anticipated Internal Upgrades
While the external design appears consistent with the Pixel 9, internal upgrades are heavily rumoured. A significant change is the reported shift to TSMC for the Tensor 5 chip, which will use a 3nm process, according to a March report from Android Authority. Previous Tensor chips were manufactured by Samsung.
Display and Battery Enhancements
For display enhancements, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is rumoured to boast an increased brightness of 3,000 nits, up from 2,700 nits, as per this Android Headlines report. Its battery is also expected to see a 7% increase, reaching 5,015 mAh compared to last year’s foldable model.
Camera Specifications and Software
Camera specifications point to a robust setup for the Pixel 10, reportedly featuring a 50-megapixel Samsung GN8 wide-angle lens, an 11MP 3J1 telephoto lens (which will also serve as the selfie camera), and Sony’s 13-megapixel IMX712 ultrawide lens. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, however, may not feature the exact same high-end camera array due to space constraints inherent in foldable designs.

The Pixel 10 is almost certainly expected to launch with Android 16 and will come equipped with an array of new AI-powered features, building on Google’s continued focus on artificial intelligence integration.
