Google Unveils Pixel 10 Pro Series with Next-Gen Tensor G5 and Magnetic Accessories
Google has officially announced the Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. This new lineup introduces a new era for Google’s flagship smartphones with a brand-new, in-house Tensor G5 chipset, larger batteries, and a fresh magnetic accessory ecosystem called Pixelsnap. The new devices are now available for pre-order in Malaysia.

While maintaining the familiar design of their predecessors, the Pixel 10 Pro series introduces a selection of new colours: Moonstone (blue-grey), Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), and Jade (green).
The displays on both models offer a premium viewing experience, with the Pixel 10 Pro featuring a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 1,280 x 2,856px resolution. Its larger sibling, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, boasts a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1,344 x 2,992px resolution. Both panels feature an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate, a peak local brightness of 3,300 nits, and are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. For security and convenience, the phones include a 42MP selfie camera and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
The most significant upgrade is the new Tensor G5 chipset. This marks a pivotal shift for Google as the chip is the first from the company to be manufactured by TSMC, a move expected to deliver substantial efficiency improvements. Google claims the Tensor G5’s CPU is 34% faster and its AI tasks are 60% faster than the previous Tensor G4. The new chip is also the first to run Google’s latest Gemini Nano on-device AI model and is paired with the Titan M2 security chip, with both models featuring 16GB of RAM as standard.

Despite the internal changes, Google is leveraging its renowned computational photography prowess by reusing the camera hardware from the previous generation. The Pixel 10 Pro series features a triple-camera setup on the rear, including a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x optical and up to 100x hybrid zoom. Video recording is supported at up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second.
Battery performance sees a notable boost with the Pixel 10 Pro now equipped with a 4,870 mAh cell and 30W charging, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL gets a larger 5,200 mAh battery with 45W wired charging. Both phones also support Qi 2 wireless charging, with 15W speeds on the Pro and 25W on the Pro XL. This new wireless charging capability is enabled by Pixelsnap, Google’s magnetic accessory system similar to MagSafe.
On the software front, the phones launch with Android 16 and Google’s new Material 3 Expressive UI. Google is also promising a comprehensive support package, offering seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. The devices are IP68 rated for dust and water resistance and come with Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband, and Bluetooth 6 connectivity.
In Malaysia, the Pixel 10 Pro is priced from RM4,999, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL starts at RM5,999. Pre-orders began on 21 August, via the official Pixel online store on Shopee, with general availability slated for 28 August. Each purchase includes one year of Google AI Pro. Physical retail partners include Sen Heng, Thundr Match and Urban Republic.
