HUAWEI Smartwatches Gain New Earbud Control Feature
HUAWEI is rolling out a new update for its smartwatches, introducing a highly anticipated earphone control switch that allows users to manage their earbuds directly from their wrist. This new capability is part of the company’s ongoing effort to make its devices more interactive and beneficial for consumers.
According to a Weibo post, the new feature, which arrives with the HarmonyOS 5.1.0.211 update, eliminates the need for users to take their phone out of their pocket to control audio playback. Through the smartwatch’s Bluetooth settings page or a dedicated home screen widget, users can easily perform various tasks, including adjusting volume, playing or pausing music, and skipping tracks.

According to official details, the HUAWEI Watch Fit 4 is the first device to receive this new tool. The company has indicated that it plans to expand the feature to more of its eligible wearable products in the near future.
Beyond the earbud controls, the latest software update also brings several other improvements. It includes changes to the weather interface to better display weather conditions, upgrades to emotional health tracking, and enhancements to the live view feature. The update also adds support for real-time status monitoring for children on their way to or from school, enhancing the device’s utility as a smart care tool.
