Xiaomi 15T Series Launches in Malaysia, Highlights Camera and Connectivity Upgrades
Xiaomi has introduced its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro, in the Malaysian market. The launch event focused on the devices’ advanced camera capabilities, innovative connectivity features, and refined design.

The 15T series features a triple-camera system developed in collaboration with Leica. The Xiaomi 15T Pro includes a main, ultra-wide, and a Leica 5x Pro telephoto camera, while the base model has a main, ultra-wide, and a standard telephoto lens. Both phones are equipped with a 50MP main camera utilising a Leica Summilux optical lens, designed to capture detail and colour, even in low-light settings. The Pro model’s main sensor has an ƒ/1.62 aperture and a high-specification Light Fusion 900 image sensor for enhanced clarity.
A notable feature of the Xiaomi 15T Pro is the Leica 5x Pro telephoto camera, which allows for 5x optical zoom and up to 20x Ultra Zoom, offering versatility for different shooting scenarios. The series also incorporates a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
For image processing, the devices use Xiaomi’s AISP 2.0 computational photography platform. This system includes features like PortraitLM 2.0 and ColorLM 2.0 to improve image depth and colour accuracy. A new Master Portrait function adds bokeh effects, while Leica’s street photography mode offers quick access to various focal lengths. In terms of video, both phones support 4K 30fps HDR10+ recording, and the Pro model can record 4K at 120fps on the main camera.

A new suite of technologies, called Xiaomi Astral Communication, is a key part of the new series. It features Xiaomi Offline Communication, which enables direct voice calls between devices up to 1.9km apart for the Pro model, even without traditional cellular or Wi-Fi signals. This is intended to provide a reliable communication option in remote areas.
The phones will be among the first to receive the new Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which Xiaomi says will enhance multitasking and provide a redesigned user interface with new lock screen and widget options.

The new phones feature a 6.83-inch display with a peak brightness of up to 3200 nits. The Xiaomi 15T Pro has ultra-narrow 1.5mm bezels and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144Hz, while the Xiaomi 15T has a 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays include technology aimed at reducing eye strain during extended use.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 15T Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, while the Xiaomi 15T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra. The devices are equipped with a 5500mAh battery. The Pro model supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the base model features 67W wired charging. Both phones also incorporate the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop System to help manage heat during demanding tasks.

The devices feature a unified glass fibre back and a flat frame. Both models come with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The Xiaomi 15T Pro is framed in a high-strength aluminium alloy. Colour options include Black, Grey, and Mocha Gold for the Pro model, and Black, Grey, and Rose Gold for the Xiaomi 15T.
