Xiaomi 17 Ultra Set for Global Debut, Camera-Focused Leica Edition Follows
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will see a global release, with the launch expected as early as this month or sometime next month. While the company has yet to lock in an official date, all signs point to MWC 2026 in February as the likely stage for its international debut.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra first launched in China in December last year, positioning itself as the brand’s top-tier camera-focused flagship. Now, new certification listings suggest that Xiaomi is preparing more than one variant for global markets.
According to well-known tipster Ice Universe, the global version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition has been certified by Thailand’s NBTC authority. The listing reportedly shows the model number 2512BPNA1G, strongly indicating that the Leica Edition, previously exclusive to China, will also be sold internationally.
The Leica Edition is expected to retain its camera-first approach. Xiaomi has previously confirmed that the phone’s physical zoom ring has a slight wobble and produces a faint sound when tapped. This behaviour is intentional and, according to the company, does not affect the device’s durability or ingress protection rating.
While Xiaomi has not officially detailed global specifications, the international model is widely expected to mirror the Chinese variant. That includes a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 6.9-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and a Leica-powered camera system featuring a 1-inch 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering continuous optical zoom between 75mm and 100mm.
Powering the device could be a 6,800mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi is also expected to bundle exclusive Leica camera software tools aimed at photography enthusiasts.
If Xiaomi does choose MWC 2026 as the stage, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and its Leica Edition could become one of the brand’s most prominent global launches of early 2026.
