HUAWEI Rumoured to be Working on a Dedicated Foldable Tablet
HUAWEI is reportedly working on a new foldable tablet device that is expected to debut later this year. According to leaks from industry insiders, the company is expanding its foldable portfolio beyond smartphones and 2-in-1 PCs with a dedicated foldable slate.

A report by HUAWEI Central, citing Weibo tipster @FixedFocus, indicates that the new device is currently in the pipeline for a 2026 release. While the company has previously launched large-screen foldables like the MateBook Fold, this upcoming product is distinguished specifically as a “foldable tablet,” suggesting a different form factor or operating system focus compared to its Windows-based predecessors.
The same leak provided updates on the company’s other highly anticipated devices. The rumoured Pura X2, the successor to HUAWEI’s foldable smartphone line, has reportedly been delayed by a full quarter. This shift is attributed to strategic adjustments in sales and release planning.
Despite these delays, the foldable tablet appears to be on track. While specific technical details remain scarce, the device could feature the Kirin 9020 5G chip, aligning it with recent high-end tablet specifications. Improvements in battery technology, software optimisation for large foldable screens, and display panel durability are also expected.
If confirmed, this device would join an increasingly diverse lineup of HUAWEI foldables, which already includes clamshell phones, triple-folding handsets, and large-format PCs. The introduction of a foldable tablet would bridge the gap between portable entertainment and productivity, potentially running on a specialised version of HarmonyOS designed for flexible displays.
HUAWEI has not yet officially confirmed the existence of this device.
