HONOR has launched an upgraded version of its X7b smartphone, the HONOR X7b 5G, targeting Malaysians seeking an affordable entry into the 5G market. Priced at RM899, it boasts 5G connectivity and generous storage, making it a compelling option in the sub-RM1,000 segment.
HONOR X7b 5G
Familiar design with a 5G boost
The HONOR X7b 5G retains the design of its 4G counterpart, featuring a large 6.8-inch FHD+ LCD display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It comes in two colours: Emerald Green and Crystal Silver, with the latter sporting a unique textured back panel.
The key difference lies under the hood. The X7b 5G ditches the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 for a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset, enabling 5G connectivity. This is complemented by 8GB of RAM and a generous 256GB of storage. The phone runs on the latest Android 13 with Honor’s MagicOS 7.2 skin on top.
Camera and battery
For photography, the device packs a triple-camera system on the back. The main sensor boasts a high megapixel count at 108MP, accompanied by a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, an 8MP selfie camera handles video calls and selfies.
Keeping the phone juiced up is a large 6,000mAh battery with support for 35W fast charging. This ensures you can stay connected and productive throughout the day.
Other features
Rounding out the package are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking, stereo speakers for immersive audio, and support for the latest wireless connectivity options like Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 5.
Availability and Pricing
The HONOR X7b 5G goes on sale starting April 25th. It will be available for purchase through HONOR’s official website, Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok stores. Major telco and retail partners like Urban Republic, Harvey Norman, Senheng, U Mobile, and Yes 5G will also carry the device.
