Huawei’s AirPods Alternative Offer Active Noise Cancellation

If you are on the look for a good pair of wireless earphones for your smartphone, your search may be over as Huawei has unveiled its new FreeBuds 3.

Now the FreeBuds 3 looks suspiciously similar to Apple’s AirPods as they feature the iconic little white stem that hangs out of your ear. Before you dismiss this as another wannabe product, the FreeBuds 3 have some interesting features.

For one, they come with Bluetooth 5.1 and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.1, both features that lower the latency rate for receiving Hi-Res audio while reducing power consumption respectively.

The catch, however, is that only Huawei smartphones with EMUI 10 and above are able to connect with the FreeBuds 3 using those standards.

But apart from that, the headline feature of the FreeBuds 3 is its Active Noise Cancellation capabilities that help reduce ambient noise by 15-decibels. In practice, this would result in better call quality as it removes external noise.

Battery life is important for wireless earphones and the FreeBuds 3 have a run time of 4 hours on a single charge through the charging case helps provide up to 20 hours of playback. For added convenience, the charging case is can be charged using Qi-standard wireless chargers.

There is no word how much the FreeBuds 3 will cost or when it will arrive in Malaysia but we will be sure to let you know when we do.
