Well, this is unexpected. Moondrop, a company well known for making high-end and popular earbuds is apparently teasing their very own smartphone.
Moondrop smartphone incoming?
The company released the teaser image over on their website and currently has the model name MIAD 01. The teaser also comes with the tagline “Explore the integration of art and reason” and is dubbed a “5G Hi-Fi Mobile Audio Device”. This suggests that the smartphone will have a more audio-focused design as compared to most other smartphones in the market. Think gaming phones but instead of gaming its audio.
We don’t know anything else in regards to the MIAD 01’s specs nor the actual design of it. However, the teaser image does seem to indicate some of the design aspects of the device. It looks like the device will feature a straight, boxy design akin to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. There’s also an indication that the power button and volume rocker will be on the same side of each other. There might also be RGB lights at play here seeing that the teaser has a line of RGB lighting moving around the teaser image.
And now we wade in the speculation part of the article considering we have no idea what Moondrop has in store with the MIAD 01. Seeing that the device would have a bigger focus focus on audio, it could mean that it will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, it could also mean the inclusion of something along the lines of a Hi-Res DAC or powerful speakers. I also think that the device will feature support for a myriad of wireless audio codecs such as LDAC, aptX and more.
Unfortunately, Moondrop has not revealed a release date or window on its website, so we have no idea when Moondrop will, drop, the “5G Hi-Fi Mobile Audio Device” MIAD 01. One thing we do know is that we will provide updates as soon as we get them. So stay tuned to us at Adam Lobo TV.
