OPPO Reno15 Series Takes Centre Stage at OPPO’s January 2025 Launch in Malaysia
OPPO kicked off 2025 with a major product launch in Malaysia, headlined by the new OPPO Reno15 Series. Alongside the smartphones, the company also unveiled the OPPO Pad 5 tablet and OPPO Watch S, expanding its ecosystem across phones, tablets, and wearables. Still, the spotlight firmly stayed on the Reno15 Series, which OPPO positions as its most creator-focused Reno lineup to date.
OPPO Reno15 Series: Built for Creators, Designed for Everyday Use

The OPPO Reno15 Series comprises three models: the Reno15 Pro 5G, Reno15 5G, and Reno15 F 5G. OPPO describes the lineup as an all-in-one creative partner, focusing heavily on camera innovation, AI-assisted editing, and long-term performance reliability.
Leading the story is the debut of OPPO’s 50MP Ultra Wide Selfie Camera. With a 100-degree field of view, the front camera is designed to capture more of the scene without the need for selfie sticks or awkward framing. It allows users to fit groups, wide city backdrops, or travel environments naturally into the shot, while also giving vloggers more room to tell their stories in a single frame.

On the rear, the Reno15 Pro 5G and Reno15 5G gain a 50MP Telephoto Portrait Camera using a periscope-style lens tuned close to the classic 85mm portrait focal length. This setup enables half-body portraits with natural compression and softer background blur. The Reno15 Pro 5G further raises the bar with a 200MP ultra-clear main camera, allowing detailed captures with flexibility for cropping and post-editing.
AI-Powered Imaging and Editing Tools
OPPO is doubling down on AI photography and video features across the Reno15 Series. AI Flash Photography 2.0 combines dual rear flashes with a new front screen flash to produce softer, more natural lighting in both portraits and selfies, even in low-light environments. Behind the scenes, the new Reno Portrait Engine and Skin Tone Improvement algorithms refine details while preserving natural skin texture.
Editing is equally central to the experience. Features like AI Portrait Glow act as a digital lighting assistant, intelligently correcting underexposed, overexposed, or backlit images with a single tap. The AI Motion Photo Popout feature allows users to create layered compositions where subjects appear to leap out of the frame, while AI Motion Photo Slow-Mo transforms motion shots into cinematic slow-motion sequences using AI frame interpolation.
A Complete Vlogging Toolkit in Your Pocket
Video creation is another major focus of the Reno15 Series. The devices support 4K HDR Ultra-Steady Video, combining high dynamic range with advanced stabilisation to keep footage smooth while on the move. Dual-View Video lets creators record using both the front and rear cameras at the same time, capturing reactions and surroundings together.
Seamless Camera Switch allows users to switch between front and rear cameras mid-recording without cutting the video, making one-take content easier to produce. The updated Video Editing 2.0 tools are built directly into the Photos app, enabling quick trimming, colour adjustments, and finishing touches without needing third-party apps.
Design That Plays with Light

Visually, the Reno15 Series builds on the design language of its predecessor, taking inspiration from the aurora. The One-piece Sculpted Glass back is paired with OPPO’s Dynamic Stellar Ring camera housing, creating a soft halo effect that shifts with the light.
Display options vary across the range. The Reno15 Pro 5G features a compact 6.32-inch display aimed at comfortable one-handed use, framed by aerospace-grade aluminium. The Reno15 5G and Reno15 F 5G offer larger 120Hz displays at 6.59 inches and 6.57 inches, respectively. All models are rated with IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance, while Splash Touch ensures reliable touch input even with wet hands.
Performance, Battery Life, and Long-Term Reliability
Under the hood, the Reno15 Series runs on ColorOS 16, powered by OPPO’s All-New Trinity Engine and Luminous Rendering Engine for smoother animations and better power management. The Reno15 Pro 5G is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset with AI HyperBoost 2.0, enabling stable high-frame-rate gaming while managing heat efficiently.
Battery capacity reaches up to 6,500mAh, paired with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging for quick top-ups. OPPO also emphasised long-term reliability, with the Reno15 Pro 5G and Reno15 5G certified for 6-Year Fluency Protection, while the Reno15 F 5G carries a 5-year certification.
Expanding the Ecosystem: OPPO Pad 5 and OPPO Watch S

Beyond smartphones, OPPO introduced the OPPO Pad 5, a 12.1-inch tablet featuring a 2.8K Eye-Comfort display, quad speakers, and a 10,050mAh battery. Aimed at students and professionals, the tablet supports AI-powered note-taking, cross-platform file transfers, and the OPPO Pencil 2R for low-latency handwriting and sketching.
The OPPO Watch S also made its debut, featuring an ultra-slim stainless steel body measuring just 8.9mm thick. With a 1.46-inch AMOLED display reaching up to 3000 nits, advanced sports tracking across more than 100 workout modes, and comprehensive health monitoring, the Watch S is positioned as a lightweight yet capable everyday fitness companion.
