POCO X8 Pro Series Launch Date Confirmed for 17 March

It’s Official: POCO X8 Pro Series Drops 17 March

POCO is officially gearing up to refresh its popular mid-range smartphone lineup. The Xiaomi sub-brand has put an end to the speculation, announcing that its highly anticipated POCO X8 Pro series will make its official debut next week on 17 March 2026, at 8:00 PM.

While POCO has kept most of the official details tightly under wraps, aside from confirming the chipsets, a steady stream of rumours has already painted a clear picture of what fans can expect. The upcoming launch will reportedly feature two devices: the POCO X8 Pro and the POCO X8 Pro Max.

Industry insiders suggest that both models are essentially rebadged versions of the REDMI Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max, a familiar strategy for the brand, though the POCO iterations will arrive with slightly smaller battery capacities.

Expected Key Features

When it comes to the expected specifications, both models are slated to feature vibrant 1.5K OLED displays with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a blinding peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The standard X8 Pro will sport a 6.59-inch panel, while the X8 Pro Max will offer a larger 6.83-inch screen. Under the hood, performance will be driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra on the X8 Pro, whereas the top-tier X8 Pro Max will pack the more robust Dimensity 9500s chipset.

To keep these powerful devices running, the Pro model will reportedly house a massive 6,500mAh cell, with the Pro Max stepping it up to a staggering 8,500mAh battery capacity. For photography, both devices are expected to rely on a 50MP main camera, though utilising different sensors, paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 20MP front-facing selfie shooter. Rounding out the feature set, both handsets are rumoured to include an under-display fingerprint scanner and an impressive IP69K rating for top-tier dust and water resistance.

You may have noticed the distinct lack of a standard “POCO X8” in the teasers and leaks. By dubbing the lineup the “X8 Pro Series,” it is highly likely that POCO is skipping the vanilla version entirely. This mirrors the brand’s recent strategy with its flagship F8 series, focusing exclusively on its premium-tier devices. As always, until the devices are officially unveiled on stage, these details remain speculative.
