After weeks of teasers, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max has officially launched in China. The device arrives with headline-grabbing specifications, most notably a colossal 9,000mAh battery and the global debut of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset.
Performance and Battery Life
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is the first smartphone to use the newly released MediaTek Dimensity 9500s SoC. This processor is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. To manage thermals during intensive tasks, the phone employs a large surface vapour chamber for cooling.
The standout feature of the device is undoubtedly its power system. The 9,000mAh battery is supported by 100W wired charging, ensuring rapid replenishment despite the massive capacity. Additionally, the phone offers 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to double as a power bank for other devices. This system is managed by Xiaomi’s proprietary P3 fast charging and G1 battery management chips.
Display and Durability
On the front, the Turbo 5 Max sports a 6.83-inch AMOLED 12-bit display using M10 luminescent material. It delivers a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The panel also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
For biometrics, the phone features a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Durability is also a focus, with the device boasting an IP69K rating for high-pressure water and dust resistance.
Cameras and Software
The imaging system consists of a dual-camera setup on the rear:
