Samsung Galaxy AI vs ChatGPT: The Chat Assistant Showdown – Part 2: Real-time Translation

The world is getting smaller, and our conversations are spanning continents. But language barriers can still trip us up. Today’s challenge: real-time translation. Let’s see how Samsung Galaxy AI and ChatGPT handle breaking down those walls, building on our exploration of writing styles in Part 1.

Challenge #2: Real-time Translation

Imagine you’re chatting with a friend from Spain on WhatsApp. You want to send a message in English, but see their reply in Spanish, and vice versa – all in real-time! Galaxy AI has you covered. Simply activate Chat Assist within your keyboard app, and a world of languages opens up. This feature seamlessly integrates with WhatsApp, translating your messages and your friend’s replies on the fly, keeping the conversation flowing effortlessly. And the best part? It works offline, delivering speedy translations without an internet connection.

ChatGPT, however, requires more manual intervention. You’d need to specifically prompt the AI to translate your message, adding an extra step to the process. Additionally, while ChatGPT can translate into any language, Galaxy AI offers real-time translation within a select group of apps, including WhatsApp, Instagram DM, and Facebook Messenger. While Galaxy AI loses points for limited app support (hopefully including Telegram and WeChat soon!), it gains major points for its seamless, offline, two-way translation capabilities, surpassing the convenience of manually prompting ChatGPT.

Advantage: Samsung Galaxy AI

Scoreboard
