ShopBack PayLater Will Be Discontinued In Malaysia

ShopBack has announced that ShopBack PayLater will be discontinued starting 22nd March. This means you won’t be able to make new purchases using the service after that date.

ShopBack PayLater discontinued

However, existing users with a good repayment history can continue using ShopBack PayLater until March 21st for purchases at participating online and physical stores. Importantly, remember to pay your outstanding installments on time to avoid late fees.

The good news is that ShopBack’s other services are still available. You can continue to earn cashback on online transactions, pay with ShopBack Pay (full payment at checkout), and redeem vouchers and gift cards. Additionally, any cashback earned from past transactions, including those made with the service, remains available for you to use or withdraw.

Regarding your data, you can still access your ShopBack PayLater transaction history in the app and on the website. Accordingly, ShopBack retains your information in adherence to Malaysia’s data protection laws.

Merchants must fulfill all existing ShopBack PayLater orders. However, if you encounter any issues, you can contact the merchant directly or seek assistance from the Consumer Forum of Malaysia. If your order is refunded after March 21st, ShopBack will send the money back to your original payment method.

If you have outstanding instalments, you cannot delink your default card until all payments are complete. For further inquiries or concerns, feel free to contact ShopBack.

The “buy now, pay later” feature was first introduced after ShopBack purchased Hoolah in 2021. The PayLater service was then launched in Malaysia back in July 2022.
