To Help Combat The Haze Xiaomi Malaysia Donates 100 units of Mi Air Purifier 2S to Malaysian Schools

The recent haze has plagued Malaysians for several weeks, putting those sensitive groups like school children at risk. To help students and teachers cope with the effects of the haze, Xiaomi Malaysia donated 100 units of Mi Air Purifier 2S, with a value totalling RM65,800 to the Ministry of Education.

During a presentation ceremony between Xiaomi Malaysia and the Ministry of Education, YB Teo Nie Ching, the Deputy Minister of Education received the Mi Air Purifier 2S from Jess Lee, Marketing Head of Xiaomi Malaysia and Singapore. The air purifiers will be sent to several schools in Johan Seria, Klang and are part  of Xiaomi Malaysia’s Corporate Social Responsibility

The Country Manager of Xiaomi Malaysia and Singapore, Allen An, said “The haze in Malaysia has affected us all but the most dangerous impact is for school students to absorb harmful substances in the air. This is a difficult time for many of us. He continues, “Our mission is to spearhead the latest technological innovations to benefit the lives of people from all walks of life. With this contribution, we hope it will ease the burden on our students and teachers in coping with the negative effects of the haze that has plagued our country. We want to fulfil our responsibility to serve the country in any way we can.

Mi Air Purifier 2S features a compact form factor that occupies a floor space of less than a sheet of A4 paper. Its minimalist design allows it to elegantly blend into any household environment.

Built with ABS materials, Mi Air Purifier 2S is sturdy, durable and highly resistant to yellowing from UV exposure or prolonged usage.
The bottom half of the chassis is perforated with 943 intake holes, allowing a large amount of air to be taken in for filtering, while the top has a powerful fan that effectively expels clean air upwards. On its front is an OLED screen, where users can monitor real-time air quality data,
Wi-Fi connection status, as well as room temperature and humidity data.

To accurately detect the air quality of its surroundings, Mi Air Purifier 2S is equipped with a laser particle sensor that quickly and precisely determines the PM2.5 levels and 0.3μm particles of its surroundings. By combining a Nidec brushless DC motor, axial fans, mixed flow blades and tapered air ducts, Mi Air Purifier 2S has a strong aerodynamic system design that is inspired by aircraft engines and provides powerful and effective airflow circulation.

Along with a 360° cylindrical filter structure, the Mi Air Purifier 2S can suck in air from every direction and presents a high Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of up to 310m3/h — it can circulate clean air entirely for a 21m2 room in just 10 minutes. Its triple-layer filter consists of a primary filter, a high-density EPA filter and an activated carbon filter. The primary filter can filter out larger particles such as dust, hair and pollen, the EPA filter removes respirable particles like PM2.5, PM0.3-0.5 and smaller pollen, while the activated carbon filter can block formaldehyde, odour and more.

Just like other Xiaomi smart devices, the Mi Air Purifier 2S can be remotely controlled using the Mi Home app. Users can turn on and off the device, view real-time air quality data, switch modes (Auto, Sleep and High Speed), monitor the filter’s usage as well as set automation
options through the Mi Home app.

Mi Air Purifier 2S retails for RM 658 and is available online at Lazada and Shopee as well as Authorised Mi Stores.
