Xiaomi 17 Series Now in Malaysia From RM 3,499 With 1-Inch Sensor and 200MP Leica Zoom

Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi in Malaysia, bringing its most advanced mobile imaging system yet to local consumers.
The announcement also marks a deeper evolution of Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica, shifting from joint R&D to what the companies now call a Strategic Co-creation Model.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: 1-Inch Sensor and 200MP Leica Zoom
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is built around Xiaomi’s first 1-inch LOFIC main sensor, the Light Fusion 1050L. It’s designed to boost full-well capacity for improved HDR and better highlight control.
Backing that up is a Leica 200MP 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom camera. Built to Leica APO optical standards, it maintains image quality across the zoom range and extends to a 400mm-equivalent focal length using advanced sensor tech.
Video gets serious, too. The Ultra supports Dolby Vision or ACES Log recording at up to 4K 120fps on both the main and telephoto cameras.
Physically, it’s Xiaomi’s thinnest and lightest Ultra yet at 8.29mm and as light as 218.4g. It features Xiaomi Guardian Structure with Shield Glass 3.0, improved drop resistance and IP68 protection.
The battery sits at 6,000mAh with 90W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging.
Xiaomi 17: Compact Flagship With 6,330mAh Battery
The standard Xiaomi 17 is slimmer at 8.06mm and weighs 191g, yet packs a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Its imaging system centres on the Light Fusion 950 sensor with a 1/1.31-inch size and 2.4μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel, delivering 13.5EV dynamic range. It’s paired with a Leica 60mm floating telephoto that supports 5x optical-level zoom, 10cm macro and up to 20x AI Ultra Zoom.
For selfies, there’s a new 50MP front camera with improved autofocus.
Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and feature custom OLED displays with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, LTPO 1–120Hz refresh rate and DC dimming.
Leica Leitzphone Powered by Xiaomi
To celebrate Leica’s 100-year anniversary, Xiaomi is introducing the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi globally, now officially available in Malaysia.
This model leans even harder into Leica’s heritage. It features a nickel-anodised aluminium alloy body and a physical Leica Camera Ring dial with knurling for manual-style control.
It also introduces Leica Essential mode, recreating the image style of classic Leica cameras such as the Leica M9 and Leica M3 with MONOPAN 50 film simulation.
