Nothing has unveiled two new wireless earbuds, Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a), alongside an innovative integration with ChatGPT, marking the company’s first venture into AI.
Refined Audio Experience for Every Listener
The new earbuds stay true to Nothing’s signature transparent design. Audiophiles will appreciate the Nothing Ear, featuring a custom-designed 11mm driver, a dual chamber design, and support for high-resolution audio codecs like LHDC 5.0 and LDAC. For everyday use, Ear (a) boasts a playful bubble design and comes in a new yellow color option. This model prioritizes deeper bass with its driver design and boasts Hi-Res Audio certification.
Both earbuds come equipped with Nothing’s Smart ANC algorithm, which automatically adjusts noise cancellation based on the user’s fit and environment. They offer up to 45dB of noise cancellation, which is nearly double the noise cancellation offered by Nothing’s previous earbuds.
In terms of performance, the Ear offers 40.5 hours of playback with the charging case and supports wireless charging. The (a) provides 42.5 hours of playback and features a fast-charging capability that delivers 10 hours of listening time with a 10-minute charge. Both earbuds come with features like multi-device connection, low-latency mode for gaming, and convenient pinch controls.
Nothing’s most revolutionary move might be its integration of ChatGPT with its earbuds and Nothing OS. This integration allows users to access information directly through voice commands spoken into the earbuds. This is a major step towards simplifying the user experience and leveraging AI for knowledge accessibility.
Nothing Ear and Ear (a) price and availability
The Nothing Ear will be priced at RM659, while the Nothing Ear (a) comes in at RM479. Both earbuds will be available in limited quantities starting 27th April in Malaysia and will see wider availability on 11th May.
