OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Go Plan in Malaysia for RM38.99
OpenAI has officially introduced a new, more budget-friendly subscription tier for its AI chatbot in Malaysia. Dubbed “ChatGPT Go,” the new plan is priced at an accessible RM38.99 per month, offering users a significant boost in capabilities compared to the free tier, while serving as a stepping stone to the more comprehensive Plus and Pro plans.

The ChatGPT Go subscription aims to make advanced AI features accessible to a wider Malaysian audience. Key benefits for subscribers include extended access to the company’s flagship GPT-5 model and substantial increases in usage limits. Subscribers will enjoy message limits that are ten times higher than the free plan.
Furthermore, the new tier dramatically enhances multimedia functionality, offering a tenfold increase in limits for both image generations and file uploads. The plan also features doubled memory, allowing the chatbot to retain context better and provide more personalised responses across all devices tied to the user’s account.
However, the affordability of the Go plan comes with certain limitations compared to its premium siblings. The plan does not include access to the most advanced tools available, such as deep research functionalities and the groundbreaking Sora video creation feature, which remain exclusive to the higher-priced Plus and Pro subscriptions.
Malaysian users can sign up for ChatGPT Go via the official OpenAI website or through the mobile application. While in-app payments are supported, web users are currently limited to credit card payments, although OpenAI has stated it is actively seeking to add more payment options soon. Existing subscribers on other plans can easily switch to the ChatGPT Go option within their account settings.
