Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Edge Plans Persist Despite Cancellation Rumours
Just as the tech world began writing its obituary, new information suggests Samsung’s ‘Edge’ smartphone line may not be dead after all. Following recent reports that Samsung planned to scrap the Galaxy S26 Edge in favour of a conventional ‘Plus’ model, new evidence points to a renewed, and perhaps even slimmer, future for the iconic curved-screen design.
According to a report from GalaxyClub.nl, while the initially planned S26 Edge may have been shelved, Samsung has begun development on a new, separate project codenamed “More Slim.” This name is significant, as the previous Galaxy S25 Edge was internally known by the codename “Slim.”

This new “More Slim” project reportedly began development much later than the other models in the S26 lineup, suggesting it is a recent addition or change in strategy. The late start has led to speculation that Samsung may have decided to pursue both a standard Galaxy S26 Plus and a new, even more slender Galaxy S26 Edge.
If this new model does come to market, its development timeline suggests it could see a delayed release, launching much later than the main Galaxy S26 series, similar to the launch schedule of the S25 Edge.
While the exact details of Samsung’s 2026 flagship strategy remain unclear, the existence of the “More Slim” project indicates that the company has not given up on the Edge concept. Tech enthusiasts who feared the curved display was a thing of the past may have reason to be optimistic.
