HUAWEI Unveils HUAWEI Mate 80 Flagship Series: Power, Premium Optics, and New Ultra-High-End Variants
HUAWEI has officially unveiled its complete HUAWEI Mate 80 smartphone series in China, ranging from the standard flagship to two ultra-premium models that push the boundaries of mobile performance and photography.
Standard Flagships: HUAWEI Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro

The base HUAWEI Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro models emphasise power and longevity, both sharing a substantial 5,750mAh battery. The Mate 80 Pro offers superior charging capabilities with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, while the standard Mate 80 provides 66W wired and 50W wireless speeds.
Shared Key Specifications
- Display: Both phones feature the same 6.75-inch 1-120Hz LTPO OLED panel with a 1280x2832px resolution. Second-generation Kunlun Glass protects the display and boasts an astonishing 8,000 nits peak brightness.
- Performance: The Mate 80 Pro is powered by the new Kirin 9030 chipset, while the Mate 80 uses the Kirin 9020. Both devices run on the latest HarmonyOS 6 and support satellite communication.
Camera Differentiation
Both phones include a triple rear camera system powered by the 2nd-gen Red Maple imaging chipset, alongside a 13MP autofocusing selfie camera.
- Shared Primary Cameras: 50MP wide-angle (variable aperture f/1.4-f/4.0) and a 40MP ultrawide.
- Telephoto: The Mate 80 Pro features a high-end 48MP 4x optical zoom unit (f/2.1), while the standard Mate 80 uses a 12MP 5.5x zoom lens (f/3.4).

HUAWEI introduced two top-tier models for users demanding the absolute maximum in specifications and design: the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro Max and the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design.
HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro Max

The Pro Max steps up the feature set with a larger 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED LTPO display and the enhanced Kirin 9030 Pro SoC. It also includes a larger 6,000mAh battery with the same 100W wired/80W wireless charging as the Pro.
The camera system is a quad setup defined by its dual telephoto lenses:
- 50MP primary sensor (variable aperture, OIS).
- 40MP ultrawide camera.
- 50MP macro telephoto (f/2.1, OIS).
- 50MP periscope telephoto (6.2x optical zoom, OIS).

It boasts a unique rear panel, a titanium mid-frame, and utilises 3rd generation basalt tempered Kunlun glass. Crucially, the RS model comes standard with a massive 20GB of RAM. This variant is priced at CNY 11,999 (approximately RM6,994) for the 20GB/512GB configuration.
