POCO Malaysia Launches POCO M8 Series: 100W Charging and 1.5K Display
POCO has officially introduced its latest M Series smartphones in Malaysia, the POCO M8 5G and M8 Pro 5G. The launch marks a significant step for the brand as it aims to redefine the mid-range segment by incorporating high-end entertainment and durability features usually reserved for flagship devices.
POCO M8 Pro 5G: Performance and Durability
The headline device of the series, the POCO M8 Pro 5G, focuses on delivering an “all-round” entertainment experience. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, which boasts a 66% performance increase over the previous generation. To sustain this performance, it features the POCO IceLoop Cooling System with real liquid cooling.
Key features include a massive 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W HyperCharge support capable of reaching 100% in 40 minutes, along with 22.5W reverse charging. The device sports a 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes Flow AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 3200 nits and Wet Touch Technology 2.0. Photography is handled by a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera featuring OIS and AI-powered editing tools like Dynamic Shots 2.0. In terms of durability, the device holds IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
POCO M8 5G: Slim and Lightweight
Designed for portability, the standard POCO M8 5G weighs just 178g and has a slim 7.35mm profile. It runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform and features a 6.77-inch Flow AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Despite its slim design, it packs a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The camera system includes a 50MP Light Fusion 400 main shooter and a 20MP front camera, supported by AI tools for photo editing.
