In a post on Weibo, the company revealed that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, positioning it as one of the largest batteries ever seen on a Redmi smartphone. The device has also been confirmed to run on MediaTek’s recently announced Dimensity 9500s chipset, placing it firmly in the upper midrange to flagship-adjacent category.

Alongside the battery announcement, Redmi officially unveiled the phone’s design. The Turbo 5 Max will be available in an Ocean Breeze Blue colourway and features a CNC-machined metal frame paired with a fibreglass rear panel. A metal ring surrounds the pill-shaped dual rear camera module, giving the phone a cleaner and more premium look.

Earlier leaked renders had suggested a different design direction, but the official images indicate that the Turbo 5 Max closely resembles the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, with a similarly minimalist rear layout. This confirms that Redmi has opted for a familiar design language for its Max variant rather than a radical visual change.

Redmi has yet to announce a launch date or pricing details for the Turbo 5 Max. With its combination of a 9,000mAh battery and the new Dimensity 9500s chipset, the device is shaping up to target users who prioritise battery life without moving away from high-performance hardware.
