In response to the outcry, Respawn has decided to reinstate the ability to buy battle passes with Apex Coins. However, The overall battle pass structure is still changing. The season is now split into two shorter passes and each pass comes at a higher cost.
The community’s immediate concerns about the removal of the Apex Coin purchase option have been addressed. Additionally, the developer acknowledged broader issues affecting the game. Specifically, these issues include matchmaking and server performance. Consequently, Respawn has pledged to improve these areas and promised better communication with players going forward.
The changes to the battle pass system will officially take effect on August 6th, with the full impact of the new structure becoming apparent in September. It remains to be seen whether these concessions will be enough to appease the community and restore faith in the game’s future.
