TL;DR / At a Glance: What are the new features of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4? The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 features 107GB of ultra-fast internal storage, 14 stops of dynamic range, and 2x lossless zoom with a dedicated physical button. It supports 4K/240fps and introduces ActiveTrack 7.0. A “Pro” version with dual-lenses is rumoured for a late summer 2026 release.
The Evolution of the Vlogging King
When the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 launched, it felt like a perfect product. So, how does DJI follow up on a masterpiece? By focusing on the one thing creators didn’t know they needed: Independence. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4, expected to retail in Malaysia for approximately RM2,350/€499/~$589), isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel—it’s trying to make the wheel spin faster and longer.
The Storage Revolution: 107GB Internal SSD
The most significant technical shift in the Pocket 4 is the inclusion of 107GB of ultra-fast internal storage. In a market currently reeling from the 2026 SD Card Shortage, this is a strategic masterstroke.
- The Speed: With write speeds reaching 800MB/s, the internal NAND flash is faster than almost any microSD card on the market. This ensures zero dropped frames, even when shooting at the new 4K/240fps slow-motion setting.
- The Reliability: We’ve all been there—the “SD Card Error” mid-vlog. By moving the primary recording to internal memory, DJI has removed the single biggest point of failure for solo creators.
Imaging: 14 Stops of Dynamic Range
While the sensor remains a 1-inch CMOS, the image processing pipeline has been overhauled. The Pocket 4 now boasts 14 stops of dynamic range. In our early testing under the harsh Malaysian midday sun, the difference is visible: the highlights in the sky stay preserved while the shadows under the trees remain clean and noise-free. This puts the Pocket 4’s output closer to a Sony FX3 than a traditional action camera.

Usability: Tactile Control & ActiveTrack 7.0
One of the common complaints about the Pocket 3 was the reliance on the small touchscreen for everything. DJI listened. The Pocket 4 introduces:
- Dedicated Zoom Rocker: A physical slider for smooth, motorized zoom.
- Custom “C” Button: Programmable for shortcuts like “Face Tracking” or “Horizontal/Vertical flip.”
- ActiveTrack 7.0: The AI can now “predict” your path. If you walk behind a pillar or a tree, the gimbal head stays locked on your exit point rather than losing the lock.

Verdict
If you already own the Pocket 3, you don’t need the 4 unless you’re doing heavy slow-motion (4K/240fps) or you’re a professional colour grader who needs that True D-Log. But for everyone else? That 107GB internal storage and the 240-minute battery life are the real “quality of life” reasons to trade in the old one.
The big question is, though: do you buy the Pocket 4 now or wait for the Pocket 4 Pro when it launches in June?
