How To Get Faster WIFI!!? 📶 Try THESE Tips! 💯

Is your WiFi sooo slooow that it feels like the end of the world?

So this time around, I’m back again with my trusty Internet Service Provider, TIME Internet, to talk to you about how to speed up your WiFi at home. If you have been struggling with this a lot, let’s get this settled, once and for all.

Common Home WiFi Issues

First of all, let’s talk about common home WiFi issues. Say you and your friends decide to get together for some multiplayer action but your Internet speed is not so good. Before you know it, the game lags and you get shot in the head. Boom, kill streak gone, your team loses and everyone hates you!

…Okay, maybe not so overdramatic but you get the point.

Causes (& Solutions)

So before we blame it on the ISP, let’s take a step back, breathe… Okay, now let’s try to identify what’s causing these issues and see what we can do to fix them. As they say, for every problem, there’s a solution.

#1 How Many Connected Devices?

First of all, how many devices are connected to your WiFi?

If you are like me, who has 3 smartphones, 2 tablets and 3 laptops, there you go, that’s one of the problems!

Because those unused devices may have background applications that are running and eating up your bandwidth.

So check your devices to see if there are any apps running and close them. Or you can even try disconnecting the devices from your WiFi to see if there’s any significant improvement to your speed.

And here’s a little tip for you TIME subscribers out there. The TIME Internet app can help you manage your connected devices, so you can easily connect or disconnect them with just a few taps of your finger.

#2 Household Bluetooth Devices

Another cause of slow WiFi could be interference from your Bluetooth household devices.

Believe it or not, that little robot vacuum friend of yours might be doing a very good job at cleaning, but it might also be interfering with your WiFi!

This is because Bluetooth is designed to work on 2.4GHz, the same frequency that most common routers also use. This results in electromagnetic or radio-frequency interference. And smart home devices usually run at 2.4GHz, so that bandwidth can be congested compared to 5GHz. And the same is true for your microwave too!

Did you also know that the giant mirror you have right in front of your router might be reflecting your WiFi signals? Yeap, I too was very amused by these findings.

Try reducing the number of reflective surfaces and active Bluetooth devices near your routers or mesh devices. Doing that should minimize the interference and increase your WiFi signal strength.

Speaking of WiFi frequencies, I know what a pain it is to keep switching between 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The awesome thing about TIME’s routers is that they can do it for you!

The mesh-enabled routers are equipped with the technology to help your devices connect to the strongest signal no matter where you are. You don’t even have to lift a finger!

#3 Layout of Your Home

The layout of your home can factor into your Internet experience too. For example, in my studio, I technically have 2 rooms, but since the smaller room is closer to the router, I get better WiFi there than the other room simply because it is blocked by fewer walls.

Now, you might be thinking: “Well, I can’t move my walls, can I?” You don’t have to! How about setting up a whole-home mesh WiFi system to overcome these “dead corners”?

TIME has a range of affordable mesh devices that ensure you can enjoy fast and stable WiFi all over your home. Plus, their TIME Internet app has a cool function that lets you check the WiFi strength in a particular room, so you know where to place your mesh for optimum coverage.

#4 Check Your Bandwidth

Finally, you might need to ask yourself, whether your current subscription is enough to serve the bandwidth usage of your household.

For example, having 4 power users at home sharing a 100Mbps connection might not be ideal at all.

Luckily, TIME Internet offers speeds up to 1Gbps at affordable prices! I’ve been using TIME for a while now and it’s been an amazing experience. But don’t just take it from me, these guys are certified as The Most Consistent Broadband in Malaysia.

More on TIME Internet app…

It’s not just that, the TIME Internet app comes in super handy when it comes to managing your connection. Say your WiFi speed suddenly drops, just run Diagnostics on the app and it’ll be able to identify common connection issues and offer a quick fix. And if that doesn’t solve your problem, TIME’s Support Ninjas are always ready to lend a helping hand through the Live Chat function.

I seriously can’t tell you how beneficial it has been for me to be able to access the Control Hub in the app, not just for easy troubleshooting but many other cool features like WiFi configuration and device installation.
