But how about the app situation? Well, let’s find out.
Design
Let’s start with the design because HUAWEI put a lot of thought into the overall aesthetics of the tablet, especially at the back where they call it the Golden Silk Aesthetic Design, since it mimics the feel of a silk fabric, which is created with multiple optical layers that gives the luxurious and elegant look compared to the usual “boring” design that you’d find on other tablets.
So, if you want something that stands out in your meetings or wants that extra attention at a cafe, well, this might just do that.
The tablet texture also gives an amazing holding experience, where even holding the tablet for hours, just scrolling, writing notes, or watching videos, was all always comfortable to hold.

The keyboard also has a dedicated spot for charging and storing your HUAWEI M-Pencil, ensuring that it’s always ready when you are and is very securely placed over there too, so you don’t have to worry about misplacing your HUAWEI M-Pencil.

On WPS Office, on the tablet, features like the pivot table, formula insertion, and gridlines and rulers are all here on the tablet as well, making the transition from a typical PC to a tablet very seamless, so you don’t really need a laptop with this particular feature.
So, whether or not you’re working on a proposal, a .PPT file, or a PowerPoint file, or doing some numbers calculation on Excel, you’re all good to go!
Go Paint App
Then the Go Paint app has also been upgraded too, with over 150 preset brushes and 80 brush settings with up to a massive 320 layers.
There’s the new fluid brush to achieve delicate wet and soft edge effects on artworks, and just by double tapping the side of the HUAWEI M-Pencil, it brings the Splatter Brush effect too, which was indeed very cool.
And whether or not you are an expert at painting or a beginner, the Go Paint tutorials would be the best teacher to teach you all of these features and more.

Speaking of the HUAWEI M-Pencil, the HUAWEI Notes also takes the experience of using this to the next level, where you can think of this as a digital notebook where you can organize your travel plans or even brainstorm for ideas and create detailed itineraries on the go.
You can also organize and visualize complex ideas with mind maps and also use professionally designed templates based on your needs, so you don’t have to crack your head trying to figure out how to write your ideas down from scratch since it’s always structured and easy to follow.
Entertainment
While I talk about mostly work-related stuff, we must not forget that this tablet is also amazing for video consumption too, as the MatePad Pro turns into an entertainment powerhouse when you need to, where you can just imagine just relaxing on your couch watching a movie with great sound coming out from this tablet speakers.
Well, I even watched some live concerts on the tablet, and I was surprised at how immersive the overall audio was projected, where the sound separation on this really sounded great too. And yes, this works on movie streaming apps like Netflix too, which brings us to our next topic, which is app support.
