Nokia 105 (2024) Released: Classic Feature Phone For The Modern Era

HMD Global, the maker of Nokia-branded phones, has launched a new version of their popular Nokia 105 (2024) feature phone. This 2024 iteration is largely similar to the HMD 105 released earlier this year, but with a key difference – it includes wired earphones in the box.

Nokia 105 (2024): Designed for Simplicity and Reliability

The Nokia 105 (2024) stays true to the strengths of classic feature phones: simplicity and reliability. It has a compact design with a 2-inch screen, ideal for making calls and sending texts. Storage is basic at 4MB, but a microSD card slot allows for up to 32GB of expansion.

Despite its unassuming specs, the phone boasts a surprisingly long battery life. The 1000mAh removable battery promises up to 18 days of standby time, perfect for users who value functionality over constant charging. Charging is done via a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack lets you connect the included earphones or any other compatible pair.

The phone is built tough with a rigid inner frame for added durability. It also boasts an FM radio, MP3 player, LED flashlight, storage for up to 2,000 contacts, and the classic Snake game. It comes in Charcoal, Purple, or Blue.

Slight Downgrade in Water Resistance

One difference from the HMD 105 is a slight downgrade in water resistance. The Nokia 105 (2024) has an IP52 rating, offering protection from dust and light splashes. This is lower than the IP54 rating of the HMD 105. However, the addition of earphones might be a worthwhile trade-off for some users.

We’re not too sure when or if HMD will release the device here in Malaysia. We’ll provide an update when we know more.
