OPPO Find X8’s Shutter Button Mirrors iPhone 16’s Camera Control
In a recent announcement, OPPO has unveiled an intriguing new feature for its upcoming Find X8 smartphone—a pressure-sensitive shutter button reminiscent of the iPhone 16’s “Camera Control.” Shared by OPPO’s Zhou Yibao on Weibo, a video preview demonstrates how this innovative button enhances the photography experience on the device.
This isn’t the first Apple related rumour when it comes to the Find X8. A few months ago, serial leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims that the upcoming device will feature Apple Airdrop support.
A Closer Look at the Feature
The new shutter button on the OPPO Find X8 functions through a pressure-sensitive strip located on the side of the device. Users can double-tap the strip to launch the camera app and then press it again to take a photo. Additionally, the strip allows for intuitive zooming in and out through swipes.
While this may seem like a direct imitation of Apple’s feature, it’s essential to understand that such advancements often take considerable time to develop. OPPO’s feature, although announced after Apple’s, was likely in the works prior to the iPhone 16’s launch. Thus, it is not merely a copy but rather a parallel evolution in smartphone camera technology.
Enhanced Usability
One of the standout aspects of OPPO’s shutter button is its versatility. The company highlights that the phone’s functionality remains intact even underwater. Users can still capture moments, even when the touchscreen isn’t operable. This feature is a game-changer for photography enthusiasts who love aquatic adventures. It’s also great for anyone wanting to capture memories in challenging environments.
Anticipation for the OPPO Find X8
The Find X8 series is expected to make its global debut later this month, with a wider release slated for next year. Alongside this innovative shutter button, the new lineup is anticipated to showcase updated camera technology and a fresh design, further positioning OPPO as a formidable player in the smartphone market.
