POCO X8 Pro Series Launches in Malaysia with Flagship Performance Push

POCO has officially launched the POCO X8 Pro Series in Malaysia, introducing the POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max as part of a refreshed lineup focused on delivering flagship-level performance at more accessible price points.
The new series marks a shift from the traditional X lineup to the X Pro Series, with POCO positioning these devices as next-generation performance-driven smartphones.
Flagship-Level Performance Takes Centre Stage
Performance is clearly the main story here. The POCO X8 Pro Max is powered by the new Dimensity 9500s chipset, built on a 3nm process and featuring an all-big-core CPU design. POCO claims an impressive AnTuTu score exceeding 3 million, putting it firmly in flagship territory.
Meanwhile, the POCO X8 Pro debuts globally with the Dimensity 8500-Ultra, delivering improved GPU performance and better power efficiency compared to its predecessor.
Both devices also support hardware-level ray tracing, bringing more realistic lighting and reflections to mobile gaming, a feature still rare at this price point.
To complement the hardware, POCO has added WildBoost Optimisation, which uses predictive frame management to maintain stable performance during heavy gaming sessions.
Massive Batteries and Fast Charging
Battery life is another standout feature. The POCO X8 Pro Max packs an 8,500mAh battery, the largest ever in a POCO device, with up to two days of usage on a single charge.
The POCO X8 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 6,500mAh battery using silicon-carbon technology for improved efficiency in a slimmer form factor.
Both models support 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging, along with smart charging features designed to manage heat and extend battery lifespan.
Bright Displays and Premium Build
The POCO X8 Pro Series features high-brightness displays, reaching up to 3,500 nits, ensuring visibility even under direct sunlight. The Pro Max sports a larger 6.83-inch panel, while the Pro model comes with a 6.59-inch display.
On the audio side, the Pro Max includes dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and a 400% volume boost for louder environments.
Design-wise, POCO is going for a more premium approach this time. Both devices feature a metal frame, fibreglass back, and dynamic RGB lighting integrated into the camera module.
Durability is also a focus, with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings alongside Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
AI Features and Smarter Software
Running on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, the new devices come with a range of AI-powered features, including integration with Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
Other additions include cross-device connectivity via Xiaomi HyperConnect, offline communication for calls without a network, and a new Ticket Purchase Mode designed to improve performance during high-demand online bookings.
