Qualcomm has announced an upcoming launch event. It will be held on 18th March in China. This has sparked speculation about the release of their next generation chipsets. While details remain unconfirmed, rumours suggest the unveiling of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
New chipsets from Qualcomm incoming
It’s important to note that these names are not final, and Qualcomm may announce the chipsets under different monikers. Additionally, the exact number of chipsets being revealed is unclear at this time.
Leaks suggest that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will sport a CPU configuration with 1x Cortex-X4 core clocked at 2.9GHz, along with 3x Cortex-A520 cores at 1.9GHz, and 4x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6GHz. It’s also rumoured to feature the Adreno 732 GPU. This chipset could potentially power the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3V. Moreover, it’s expected to find its place alongside the realme GT Neo 6 SE and Redmi Note 13 Turbo.
The more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is expected to offer a 1x Cortex-X4 core at 3.04GHz, complemented by 3x Cortex-A520 cores at 1.84GHz, and 4x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.61GHz. Moreover, the graphics department might be handled by an Adreno 735 GPU. Notably, several upcoming devices are rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, including the realme GT Neo 6, Xiaomi Civi 4, Vivo Pad 3, and iQOO Neo 9 Racing Edition.
