ASUS has just announced the retail price and availability of the new ROG Phone 8 Series. Revealed earlier this month, the newest addition to the ROG’s popular gaming phone series comes decked out in a newer, more mainstream design language than before. It also packs the latest Snapdragon processor, AI-powered features and many others.

The phone boasts a stunning 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate that goes up to a blazing 165Hz for super smooth visuals. To save power, the system can automatically adjust the refresh rate down to 120Hz based on the content you’re viewing. Under the hood, the ROG Phone 8 Series packs a punch with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. There’s also a massive 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage for all your games and apps.

To keep things cool during intense gaming sessions, ASUS has implemented a new Rapid-Cooling Conductor design that pulls heat away from the processor and channels it to the back cover. Additionally, the new AeroActive Cooler X is 29% smaller than the previous version but delivers 1.2X higher thermal efficiency, lowering the back cover temperature by up to 26°C.

The ROG Phone 8 sports a triple camera system on the back, including a 50MP main camera with an unspecified Sony image sensor and 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0 for shake-free photos and videos. There’s also a 13MP ultrawide camera and, for the first time in the ROG Phone line, a 3X telephoto camera. On the front, you’ll find a 32MP ultrawide selfie camera with a 90° field of view, housed in a cutout on the display.

It wouldn’t be an ROG Phone without some signature design elements. The phone features the iconic Aura RGB Lighting logo on the back, while the Pro and Pro Edition boast an even more impressive Anime Vision Mini-LED display that can showcase preset or custom animations. And of course, the popular AirTrigger capacitive shoulder buttons make a return, providing you with additional controls for your games.

AI-Powered Features for Gamers

The ROG Phone 8 is packed with AI-powered features to enhance your gaming experience. The Background Mode lets you easily move games to the background, while X Capture makes it simple to capture in-game screenshots. There’s also the AI Grabber feature that can record text from your screen and X Sense, which provides tips and tricks based on AI Pattern Recognition technology.

ROG Phone 8 series price and availability

The base model, the ROG Phone 8 (12GB | 256GB), is priced at RM3,999. If you need more storage or RAM, the ROG Phone 8 Pro (16GB | 512GB) is only RM4,799. And for the ultimate gaming experience, the ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition (24GB | 1TB | with AeroActive Cooler X included) is priced at RM5,999.
