Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Series Makes Its Debut With a Brand New Design

Samsung’s Unpacked event wasn’t just about foldable phones. The company also unveiled its next generation of True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro. Both models boast a new design with stems, similar to Apple’s AirPods Pro, marking a departure from Samsung’s previous design language.

Galaxy AI Meets True Wireless

Both the Buds3 and Buds3 Pro come equipped with Samsung’s Galaxy AI features, enhancing functionality and user experience. The standout feature is Interpreter Mode, which utilizes real-time translation to bridge communication gaps. This is particularly beneficial for the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, as it allows for seamless translation conversations displayed directly on the phone through the Galaxy AI feature.

Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro: Premium Audio with Innovative Features

The Galaxy Buds3 Pro takes the lead in audio quality with its dual driver setup – a combination of a 10.5mm dynamic driver and a 6.1mm planar driver. This promises a wider soundstage and potentially richer audio compared to the single 11mm driver on the Galaxy Buds3.

The Buds3 Pro has additional features like:

  • Adaptive EQ and ANC: These features automatically adjust audio settings and noise cancellation based on your surroundings for an optimal listening experience.
  • Voice Detect: This automatically lowers music volume and activates ambient sound when you start talking, ensuring clear conversations without needing to remove the earbuds.
  • SSC Ultra High Quality Codec: This proprietary codec supports higher resolution audio formats for a potential boost in audio fidelity (available on select Samsung devices).
  • Super-Wideband Support: This enhances call clarity by capturing a wider range of frequencies during phone calls.
  • 24-bit Hi-Fi Audio: Enjoy high-fidelity audio on compatible Samsung devices like the Galaxy S24 series and Z Fold6.
  • 360-degree Spatial Audio: Creates an immersive listening experience with sound seemingly coming from all around you.
  • Auto Switch: Seamlessly switch between connected Galaxy devices.
  • Voice Pickup Unit Sensor: Enhances voice clarity during calls.
  • IP57 Water Resistance: Protects the earbuds from dust and sweat.

The Buds3 Pro comes with a unique Blade Light LED strip on each earbud for a stylish touch. This light can indicate connection status and aid in locating the earbuds with SmartThings Find. The black strip on the stem also functions as a touchpad for gesture controls.

The battery life stretches up to 22 hours with the charging case, which supports both USB-C and wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy Buds3: A Feature-Packed Option

The Galaxy Buds3 offers a more affordable alternative to the Pro model while retaining many of its core functionalities. It shares features like Bluetooth 5.4, Auto Switch, SSC Ultra High Quality audio, and a similar design. However, it utilizes a single 11mm dynamic driver, potentially leading to a different audio experience compared to the Pro model. Battery life is also slightly shorter at 20 hours.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy Buds3 Pro is priced at RM999 in Malaysia, while the Galaxy Buds3 comes in at RM599. Both are available in Gray and White colour options. Pre-orders are open now, with sales starting on the 24th of July. Pre-order customers will receive a free charging pod protector, and Samsung Members can enjoy additional discounts on their purchase.
