Xiaomi Pad 8 Series Launches in Malaysia With HyperOS 3 and PC-Level Productivity

Alongside its latest Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi has officially introduced the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro in Malaysia, expanding its ecosystem with AI-powered light productivity tablets.
Positioned as the thinnest and most powerful tablets Xiaomi has released, the Pad 8 Series combines flagship-grade performance with a slim, portable form factor.
11.2-Inch 3.2K 144Hz Display in a 5.75mm Body
Both tablets feature an 11.2-inch 3.2K display with up to 800 nits brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate. Whether it’s productivity tasks, content streaming or light editing, Xiaomi is clearly pushing for a smooth and vibrant visual experience.
Despite measuring just 5.75mm thin and weighing 485g, both models pack a large 9,200mAh battery, offering extended usage without adding bulk.
HyperOS 3 Brings PC-Like Multitasking
Running on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, the Pad 8 Series introduces system-level intelligence powered by Xiaomi HyperAI.
The updated interface includes redesigned lock screens, widgets and desktop elements with subtle animations. More importantly, multitasking gets serious upgrades.
Users now get a 5:5 vertical split view and a new 1:9 horizontal split layout for better window management. Workstation Mode has also been enhanced, allowing more apps to stay docked for quick access.
There’s also PC-Level Browser support with mouse-hover previews, right-click functionality and an improved toolbar, aiming to replicate a desktop-style web experience. Integrated WPS Office PC ensures compatibility with documents, slides, spreadsheets and PDFs directly on the tablet.
Snapdragon Power Across the Lineup
At the top, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Xiaomi claims CPU performance is up 81 per cent, with GPU performance boosted by 103 per cent compared to its predecessor.
It supports 67W HyperCharge and features a 50MP rear camera with a 32MP front camera for clearer video calls and content capture. Storage goes up to 512GB.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi Pad 8 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, delivering a 32 per cent CPU boost and 67 per cent GPU increase. It supports 45W turbo charging and comes with up to 256GB storage, alongside a 13MP rear and 8MP front camera setup.
New Focus Pen Pro and Accessories
The series introduces the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro, weighing just 17.5g. It supports pressure sensitivity along with pinch and double-tap gestures for more intuitive control.
Productivity accessories include the Focus Keyboard, standard Keyboard and protective Cover, transforming the tablets into more versatile workstations.
