During an earnings call with investors, the company outlined its plans for the Exynos 2500. Specifically, it aims to “secure design wins for mobile models scheduled for release in H2 2025.” As a result, it is highly likely that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 will feature the in-house chipset in some markets.
While Samsung typically offers both Exynos and Snapdragon variants of its flagship devices, the confirmation ensures that at least some versions of the next-generation foldables will be powered by the Exynos 2500.
Recent leaks have provided insights into the Exynos 2500’s specifications. A notable change from the Exynos 2400 is the CPU cluster configuration, shifting from 1+2+3+4 to 1+2+2+5. This adjustment likely aims to optimize performance and power efficiency.
The Exynos 2500’s arrival marks a significant step for Samsung in its pursuit of in-house mobile chip dominance. While facing stiff competition from Qualcomm, the company continues to invest heavily in its System LSI division, aiming to deliver high-performance and energy-efficient SoCs for its premium devices.
