Netflix has just dropped Nimona, their Oscar-nominated animated movie on YouTube earlier today. The movie is completely free to watch in its entirety now over on the official Netflix YouTube channel.

Nimona is an animated sci-fi fantasy movie starring Chloë Grace Moretz as Nimona and Riz Ahmed as former knight Ballister Boldheart. Originally produced by Blue Sky Studios (creators of the Ice Age franchise), the movie found a new home at Annapurna Films after the studio’s closure. Critics widely acclaimed the film, released on the platform in June 2023.
The movie is up for Best Animated Feature at the upcoming 96th Academy Awards in March. The movie will face off against other animated giants such as:
- The Boy and the Heron
- Elemental
- Robot Dreams
- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Here’s a brief synopsis of the movie.
When a knight in a futuristic medieval world is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona — a mischievous teen who happens to be a shapeshifting creature he’s sworn to destroy.
