The new OPPO A59 5G has just been made official by OPPO India. Seeing that India is one of the brand’s biggest markets, it’s no surprise that OPPO decided to launch the device there.

The OPPO A59 5G touts a 5.5-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate and 720 nits brightness level. Under the hood you’ll find a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset as well as 128GB of storage with micro SD support. There are two RAM options for the A59 5G; 4GB and 6GB, both can be expanded virtually. Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC support that can charge the device up to 52% in just 30 minutes.

Moreover, the A59 5G sports a dual camera setup; a 13MP main camera and a 2MP ultrawide camera. You will also find a 13MP selfie camera located in the waterdrop notch on top of the display. Perhaps the most interesting feature that’s included with the A59 5G is IP54 water and dust resistance. Pretty impressive for an entry-level smartphone.

Price and availability

The OPPO A59 5G will retail for ₹14,999 (RM834) for the 4GB variant while the 6GB variant will retail for ₹16,999 (RM948). The device will have two colour options; Silk Gold and Starry Black.
