ZOTAC, a well-known name in the PC gaming space, has announced its foray into the handheld market with the ZONE. While details are still scarce, the device promises to be a contender with its premium features and unique design.
ZOTAC ZONE to be unveiled during Computex 2024
One of the highlights is the 7-inch AMOLED display. It places it alongside the likes of the Switch and Steam Deck in terms of visual quality. This sets it apart from other high-end handhelds. Examples include the ROG Ally, Legion Go, and MSI Claw, which lack OLED screens. Additionally, the ZONE boasts 2-stage adjustable triggers for enhanced control during gameplay.
The back of the device features a distinctive RGB LED strip and additional buttons, showcasing ZOTAC’s own design approach. While the front resembles existing handhelds, the overall look promises a distinct experience.
ZOTAC plans to showcase “functional prototypes” of the ZONE at Computex, indicating that the device is still under development. With the company’s expertise in Mini-PCs powered by Intel hardware, speculation suggests the ZONE might utilize Core Ultra 100 or 200 series processors. This aligns with Intel’s expected updates on the Lunar Lake architecture at Computex.
An update from ComputerBase confirms that the ZONE will be powered by an AMD Ryzen APU, adding another layer of intrigue to the already promising device.
